Preparation of the floor
- Application on wooden floors that are clean, dry and without traces of wax, encaustic, detergents, oil, linseed oil (or other specific oils) or polishes.
- On new floors: sand using a floor sander (grain 120). Dust carefully.
- On old floors (sealed, waxed, oiled): Sand “to the maximum” using a floor sander (grain 60, 80 then 120). Dust carefully. Scouring and wax removal are not recommended.
- Exotic wood or previously waxed wood: degrease with acetone after sanding.
- If necessary, use an appropriate wood treatment product.
- Tips: Apply the Syntilor Aquaréthane® Flooring Undercoat before sealing (especially if the old floor was waxed or oiled).
Application
- Ready to use. Do not dilute.
- Stir well before use.
- Apply using a brush, a spalter (large brush) or a roll (specially for sealing), in 3 well-garnished coats or 2 coats if you have first applied a coat of Flooring Undercoat.
- Between each coat: Allow to dry for 2 hours, then sand lightly (fine abrasive) and dust carefully.
- Do not exceed 48 hours between 2 coats.
- Very quick hardening: The rooms can be reused within 12 hours after the last coat (take a few precautions on the first few days).
Normal maintenance
- Dusting (broom, vacuum cleaner). Occasionally, use a wet mop (neutral detergent, wring well before mopping).
- The regular use of Syntilor Aquaréthane® Restorer will preserve the attractive appearance of your sealed floors for a long time.
Renovation
- The Ultra Resistant Sealant can be renovated by itself. Carefully sand the old sealant (fine sandpaper), dust carefully and apply 1 or 2 coats of the product. On other brands and pre-varnished floors, carry out a compatibility test and an adherence test.
