Make a TV cabinet in solid wood and black MDF
Materials
To make this TV unit, you will need:
- For the top: 1 nobel-quality solid oak wood panel of 100 x 40 x 2.6 cm
- For the intermediate shelf: 1 nobel-quality solid oak wood panel of 94 x 30 x 2.6 cm
- For the sides: 2 black Valchromat MDF panels of 42.4 x 40 x 3 cm
- For the bottom of the unit: 1 panel of 96 x 31 x 0.8 cm
- For the assembly: 1 dowel assembly kit
- For the cuts: 1 router
Manufacturing steps
1/ Order and receive your panels from La Boutique Du Bois
2/ Mark the groove for fitting the unit bottom on the sides and on the underside of the top
3/ Adjust the router and choose the right cutter
4/ Groove the upper part of the intermediate shelf
5/ Do the same with both sides
6/ After having marked the position of the shelf on the sides, drill the sides for assembly
7/ Mark the drilling position of the shelf by placing centring devices on the sides
8/ Drill at the marked locations
9/ Glue
10/ Position the dowels
11/ Assemble the top and sides
12/ Slide the bottom into the grooves
13/ After having drilled the upper part of the sides, mark the drilling position of the top by placing centring devices
14/ Drill the underside of the top
15/ Glue
16/ Position the dowels
17/ Assemble all the sides and the shelf with the top
18/ Sand lightly
19/ Dust
20/ Varnish
21/ Allow to dry
